The digital economy will reshape the global economic structure and is the biggest opportunity for future economic development. The natural signals in the sensor collection environment are transmitted, processed, stored, and controlled. It is used to bridge the physical world and digital network. It is the cornerstone of the digital economy era. The total amount also rises with the gradual deepening of the digital economy. While expanding the total amount, the development of sensor technology seems to enter the platform period, and in recent years, there has been lack of inspiring changing breakthroughs. What opportunities and challenges are the development of sensor technology when new companies, new materials, new technologies, and new applications are emerging?
Through a comprehensive review of the industry experience, new technologies and opportunities in new application fields of Germany, one of the world’s sensor giants, this paper provides a forward-looking perspective for the medium and long-term development of China’s sensor industry, and provides support for the future research and development of industry decision-makers, R&D personnel and market experts.
The concept of Industry 4.0 is well known, and the concept of advanced industrial hard power was first proposed by Germany in 2013. The proposal of Industry 4.0 aims to improve the intelligent level of German manufacturing industry. Sensing and perception is the basis of it, which supports the continuous strengthening of German industrial hard power. Terminal application demand in turn promotes the development of sensor industry technology, and drives German sensor enterprises to continue to lead the direction of global industry. When introducing the “TOP10 Global Sensor Companies in 2021″, CCID Consulting pointed out that German company Bosch Sensors ranked first in the world, and Siemens Sensors ranked fourth.
In contrast, the output value of China’s sensor industry exceeds 200 billion yuan, but it is distributed in about 2,000 enterprises and 30,000 kinds of products. The global well-known enterprises are very few and most of them are famous for their application and innovation. The foundation of the overall industry development still needs to be further consolidated.
